Under Bridge

An Embassy under a bridge represents the homeless (see note) site typically seen in metropolitan Tokyo, usually over a river or under a freeway or both. These sites are usually abandoned due to a lack of function. Making reference to its architectural character, this Embassy bears two façades, one transparent and the other opaque. The architectural term of façade making reference to the face as in front or mask of a building. Inside the structure hangs a library of protocol books.
